autodoc.co.uk you should have applied theoretical load to the front bush, now, when the vehicle is placed on the ground the bush will twist and when going over uneven surfaces if will eventually tear the front bush.
I guess Im asking the wrong place but does anyone know a tool to log back into an instagram account?? I was dumb lost the password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me.
@Kaleb Malik Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
In addition to being a lifelong shadetree car mechanic and now a professional aeroplane mechanic I will tell you that double-clicking or triple-clicking a torque wrench is incorrect and will always result in a higher torque than desired. The only correct method is to turn very slowly and to click ONCE.
This would be a great time to install the DNA tubular LCA's (modular ball joints and better handling) and perhaps an aftermarket FMIC (more boost and cooler intake temps). If a stock part needs replacing my rule of thumb is to look at aftermarket performance first. particularly when Fiat is considered, there is a vast aftermarket for this car and your factory parts are needlessly expensive with poor quality at best.
Thank you for your comment. The levers are standard on both cars. Please stay tuned with us not to miss out on our new tutorials. Best Regards, Autodoc team.
Wrong method to install the lower arm . Front hinge of the control arm was tightened incorrectly at fully extended position which will cause the rubber bushing under stress at normal arm position. This arm rubber bushing will fail very soon .
Thank you for the feedback! Yes, you are right. The control tightening of the suspension mountings is carried out when the car is on wheels under a load of its own weight. We will take it into consideration for our next tutorial. Best regards, Autodoc Team.
You're correct Anthony and it's just how I've done the job too. Because of the ridiculous hidden bolt for the front hinge, I had to jack up under the ball joint until the weight of that corner was taken up before tightening the bolt. On any other car I've done, you can tighten these bolts as the very last step while the car is sat on the ground on its own 4 wheels. Stupid design.
great vidio can you tell me what size are the two fastening bolts that hold the arm in place i have a fiat grande punto and the torx bolt is damaged were can i buy them from thanks

Arts&Trusts The primary reason is a worn ball joint, which Fiat has made an integral part of the wishbone, which requires the whole part to be replaced. Not that big of a deal if it weren’t for the major surgery required to get at that front bolt.
Trust me if your replacing the arms spend the extra upgrade the arm bushes. the standard fiat ones are not strong enough and wear out very quickly. I wore a new pair out in 10k miles steady driving replace the bushes for powerflex fast road bushes this will rectify the problem. £110 for all 4 bushes
@@autodocuk remove wheel hub, use hand press on lower ball joint, press in new one, replace wheel hub? Saves having to strip front of car off just to replace bad lower ball joint.
Watching this video confirmed that the 15mm side member nuts are indeed welded to the side members, and that shot down any idea of a cheat of being able to remove just one side control arm and leaving the front bumper fascia on the vehicle .😡
Worst torque wrench technique I have ever seen. We have no idea how much torque was applied. All we know for sure is that he applied WAY more than the wrench was set to.
Briefly, the Fiat 500 is a poorly and cheaply designed piece of shit designed to maximise the transfer of money from consumer to manufacturer and seller. Any job on a Fiat like this, you should grease the hell out of everything on reassembly, as rust never sleeps.

Hello mate,
are the fiat 500 sport lower arms the same as the fiat 500 Abarth lower arms? Or are they just standard. Cheers

Is this possible to do correctly DIY on say, a driveway? Im not sure I could access those bolt when the car isn't on jack stands...

Last stage reassembly of aesthetic parts like bumper cover should be done with clean bare hands and not dirty, gritty, work gloves!

For the sake of just one joint can't you just press it out and press in a new one, saves stripping the front of the car off
